I am marking this as a complete in spirit rather than completed literally as stated. Janet purchased an iPad and I was able to sync Janet’s work email, calendar, and contacts with the iPad. Luckily, her work setup was very similar to mine on the iPhone, so it was a matter of just a few minutes’ work!
This turns out to be a much better solution anyway for several reasons:
- The technology itself and the user interface is much better.
- Because of the iPad’s wireless connectivity, Janet can refresh her all of these components wireless from work, from our home network, or anywhere else that has WiFi. The Palm solution would have required her to physically sync the device to carry the updated info.
- More likely to keep the iPad charged than the Palm device. 🙂
